Your homestead sounds beautiful and reminds me of a trip I took with some girl friends years ago to Vancouver and Vancouver Island. I remember marvelling at the size of the plants which were two or three times bigger than here in Ontario! I was a touch envious over the gardens! I could say the grass is always greener but in this case it really is - our is nearly dead :)anitapreciouspearlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13575584580341496734noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-848608952056896420.post-88516047203658442142012-06-20T13:04:43.722-07:002012-06-20T13:04:43.722-07:00I loved this post. If I wasn't going to stay permanent in a place, I wouldn't want to invest too much money and energy into things I'd have to leave behind either.

Hydro would be a wonderful way to go if you could manage that stream or river. In many areas in the east, the government claims 50 feet on either side of running water, so even if it's on one's property, permits are needed to do anything within that 50 feet, even build a bridge. Of course they say no to using it to generate electricity.Leighhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02435811789823712254noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-848608952056896420.post-66554147026953677012012-06-15T12:38:53.360-07:002012-06-15T12:38:53.360-07:00You're welcome anytime.
